Takeing wardrobe cues from Breakfast at Tiffany's

The movie begins at breakfast, with lovely Holly Golightly (Hepburn), still dressed in an evening gown in the early morning light, drinking a cardboard cup of coffee and eating a danish as she wistfully browses the windows at Tiffany's. A "party girl," Holly spends her evenings with a series of older men who seem to have lots of money (she routinely receives $50 when she goes to the powder room, long before the "powder room" meant cocaine). She lives in a barely furnished apartment where she washes her hair, hosts parties, and attends to an independent orange tabby. Once a week, she traipses off to Sing-Sing to meet with admirer Sally Tomato, an Italian gent jailed for mob activities, who gives her "the weather report" to relay to his cronies on the outside.

Breakfast at Tiffany's  shows that how style is interweaved into Holly’s everyday life.
All these looks are very understated yet elegant, hinting that Holly would rather spend whatever money she hustled on fine clothes than furniture. It’s very French in that all the outfits seem well-made but styled nonchalantly, and also very American in that they are all very spare and minimal, with barely any jewelry.

One of my favorite look is when Holly brings Doc Golightly to the bus station, and proceeds to get absolutely shitfaced with Paul/Fredbaby.
The look is extremely simple: a trench coat, head scarf, black pique polo, tweed pencil skirt, and what I think are white kitten-heeled mules. Terribly chic, terribly simple, but very difficult to pull off.
This outfit still looks stylish on the current and upcoming fashion.

Taking cues from the featured to translate a certain look into a real life wear, it's very interesting to do that. Polyvore is the main tool used to create the collages; click through to see the details of each look.

The next look I enjoyed was the pink dress from the house party scene, this outfit may be worn for a casual brunch with friends or having a date with someone. In contrast to the preceding look, this is more femininity for a dating occation. A little lady-style coat with bright color may brings both vision enjoyment and pleasant feeling of fashion pursuitI.

The last and the most classical is the Little Black Dress.

Holly wears a knee-length black shift dress with black pumps, a black purse, and accessorizes with a great black hat and statement earrings.
I only remix a bit from this outfit, to make it a bit classic but still fashionable in order to fit a practical or modern look.
