Roman Holiday is a romantic comedy, which was released in 1953, directed and produced by William Wyler.
Through a series of lies
and supposed mistaken identity, Princess Ann(Audrey Hepburn)was finally able to travel at Rome without the
confines of being a royal. She enjoyed her newfound freedom, cutting her hair at
a barbershop and casting off her royal garb and became a more casual look.
The film was a huge
success securing a Best Actress Oscar for Audrey Hepburn. Oscars were also awarded
for Best Screenplay and Costume Design as well.
Move into fashion area. It’s amazing to see trends from years past come back, Hepburn’s midi high-waisted shirt skirt and crisp button down(design by Edith Head), as a big trend in the 1950's after Roman Holiday hit the cinema, would be appropriate for work or for school in daily life even today.
